Pervert Of The Year : Friend and fellow instructor Mark Oliver had established a reputation for himself that his class never lost a Halloween skit contest. I had a quarter eight (graduating) class and we vowed that it was time to break the chain. With some resourceful thinking, we came up with a plan. The well-known Dr. Ruth was subverted to Dr. Rude and 'Dr. Rude and Her Sex Kumputer' was the result. HERO, a Heathkit robot was the voice of the computer. While there were some pre-planned questions and answers that HERO responded to, we also had a line-printer hooked up to a computer with a live operator in the lab room to type replies for anything else that might be asked and then print it out through a slot on the front of the 'Kumputer'. Captain Sex was inside the box and provided some animated bells, whistles and sirens if I remember correctly. The contest, of course was staged. We had three other nominees plus Mark. Naturally, the kumputer chose Mark. The idea of the picture frame was to take care of some rather zealous application of pies in the face. Of course we told him it was 'just for the photograph'. Well, it really was, wasn't it? Needless to say we won, hands down. The picture frame? Mark kept it until we moved out of the Oak Grove location. That was probably at least ten years later.
