Unloading The VA891H Klystron : The VA891H klystron is one of three tubes used in our RCA TTU-60D analog transmitter. I drove down to Covington (LA) to pick it up from Freeland Products - the re-builder of our tube. Covington is about 30 miles north of New Orleans. I was anxious to get this tube back and installed since the one remaining tube running our transmitter was showing signs of failure. So what's the problem? A 450 lb crated klystron must be unloaded by two people from a van. Here's how it was done.

Next Generation Transmitter : New analog/digital transmitter installation. This not as complete as I would have liked it to have been, but I was busy myself with installation tasks. Take note that this installation took a total of FIVE DAYS, start to finish. That includes ripping out the old RCA. That was quite an accomplishment. My compliments to Matt Sanderford and his crew Don, Josh and George. Great job.

Power Outage 02/24/08 : Power outage on Sunday 02/24/08 knocked us off the air at 8:45 AM. These pictures show the damage and power line repair. Not pictured is the circus at the other end of the road. At least half-dozen or more service, fire, ambulance and law enforcement vehicles. Power was restored at approximately 1:45 PM.
